Feeding the monster
This photo reminds me of the story of Athens assembling its young & sending them to be devoured by a monstrous minotaur. Instead of a minotaur, we sacrifice our kids to wars. One of the youths here already wears a uniform. I'm training my boys to scorn the Anzac death cult.

The nation that loses the conflict will be totally destroyed by the events and may never recover. Overall, it would benefit the winning nation, and in rare situations, it would benefit mankind as a whole if the conflict was about people fighting for their rights. Unfortunately, this is the fact, and most conflicts result in one nation being ravaged and another thriving.
